The house

The Hotel

A house of fourteen rooms above a fishing village, kept lightly across three acres of tropical garden. Hand-painted tiles, collected ceramics and the worn blue light of the Algarve — a place to be calm, to be curious, and to live la vida en azul.

The old house at Salsalito
Our story

An old house,
kept lightly

Salsalito began as a fisherman's house and grew, room by room, into a retreat that never lost its quiet. We restored it with local craftspeople — the tiles glazed in Lagos, the linens woven in the north — and left the worn edges where we found them.

Calm
No screens in the lounge, no rush at breakfast, no music you didn't choose.
Curious
A library of the region, boats to borrow and a chef happy to take you to market.
Slow
Long lunches, longer evenings, and a garden built for doing very little.
